Chef Hunan Bo - Authentic Chinese Cuisine in Houston, TX

This is the best hole in the wall authentic chines food I have ever had! I have been coming here since I was little girl and my mom since she was a little girl. Overall, as a family we been enjoying this restaurant for 30+ years. Best dishes to get is the egg rolls, sesame chicken, beef and broccoli, magnolia beef, and the lemon chicken. Can’t go wrong with any of these.

Hunan Bo is a hidden mom and pop Chinese restaurant turning out great classic takeout at super low prices. The sesame chicken had a great crunchy texture and a nice sweet sauce to satisfy that sauce covered chicken and rice urge. The beef and broccoli was tasty and very tender. The brown sauce was simple but good. The eggroll and fried rice are pretty standard and good. You can easily eat here for less than $10 per person and leave full. Completely recommend it.

This has become one of our favorite neighborhood Chinese restaurants. The food is consistently good and very reasonably priced. The lady/owner who is always at the restaurant is so welcoming and makes us feel at home every time we dine in. She also offers to entertain our baby son while my husband and I eat. We’ll keep coming back.

This is the most authentic American Chinese this side of town. Full disclosure I’ve never eaten in but br place has the vibe of a small town Chinese restaurant that’s been there for decades. The prices haven’t changed in decades either it seems. American Chinese comfort food at its best.

Some of my favorite Asian cuisine in the area. Unbeatable prices, especially during lunch hours. Food is delicious. Their beef & broccoli might be the best I’ve had in my life lol

Nicest lady at the countertop and I, after years of eating Chinese & Asian food in Houston and have driven 30+ minutes out to get food before, do not understand how they manage they keep the cost that cheap and food of this quality. My chicken tastes fresh and freshly fried, the batter is not too tough or too thick at all but has the crunch, sauce is great on the sweeter side, fried rice that goes free with the chicken has some wok heat in it (I'm sure the flavor of fried rice would be even better if you order them separately with meat), and an egg roll not too thickly wrapped with actually some meat in it. 10 bucks total with card. Everything is quick, they are flexible with options and my food is hot and crunchy when I arrived home, food portion great for the cost, quality & location. The lady remembers people's names too, she knows her customers. Very good and definitely the cheapest mom&pop Chinese American takeout I've had. Update: their noodle is so-so & not super seasoned, but otherwise, everything is consistent!

Best hole in the wall Chinese restaurant on this side of town. Not too greasy, and delicious flavor. My go to for my classic chinese food!! They are fast and super nice! The general tso's chicken was very crispy. Large portions.

I have dined here since I was probably about 3 years old. It is my favorite Chinese restaurant of all time. Food is great, prices are amazing, & service is perfect. I would recommend this place to anyone that wanted good food. The atmosphere is peaceful. There are never more than 3 families at a time there, including my own. It's honestly a shame because it really is great place.
